Let's talk fibre at first price!
You can order VUMA Fibre on our website (start your order journey at https://vumareachfibre). You will not be able to complete your VUMA REACH Fibre order without selecting a package, so make sure you know which speed and package you would like when placing your order.
Once you have placed your VUMA Fibre, your application will go through a number of verification steps both at Vumatel and The Great Mobile. Once all of these steps have been completed and your order has been accepted and processed, you will receive an email and be contacted to schedule your installation.
Once your installation has been scheduled, your installation appointment should take between 2 to 4 hours depending on the complexity of the installation. Please note that there are outlying cases where the installation can take much longer.
During the installation, Vumatel will install a CPE or ONT (read about these devices here). These devices are not Wi-Fi enabled and you will not be able to surf the internet with these devices.
The time taken to complete the set-up depends on a number of variables and also varies from ISP to ISP.
If you move out of your home after installing VUMA Fibre, please be sure to cancel or migrate your internet service. If you do not cancel your service, you will continue to be billed for it and the next resident who moves into your home will be unable to activate a new internet service on that connection.
Please also be sure to leave the CPE or ONT and its power cable where it is. You cannot remove this device or take it with you. This device is delicately connected to fibre and forms part of the Vumatel network. It cannot be removed.
If you are moving to a new home with VUMA Fibre, you can ask us to migrate your service to the new fibre connection in your new home.
If you move into a home with existing VUMA Fibre and there is already a CPE or ONT device mounted to a wall inside your home, you can get an internet service over the fibre connection. Let us know that you already have VUMA Fibre in your home, and place an order for the service or package that you would like activated over the fibre infrastructure.
There are many reasons why your internet connection may keep dropping:
1. If you are connected to a Wi-Fi router you may not experience consistent internet. Your connectivity can be affected by how far away you are from your router and your home may have barriers to the Wi-Fi connectivity including thick walls, metal panels, and some electronic devices. Electronic devices on a 2.4GHz signal may cause interference to your Wi-Fi connection.
2. Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) include Fair Usage Policies in their internet packages. If you have not followed this Fair Usage Policy your line may be dropped at intervals or cut off completely.
3. If you cannot reach a particular website, it could be that the website is unavailable at the time
